Gentle XFCE
Date: 19 Jan 2010 / Author: SeanParsons / Views: 3777
It's not just my favorite XFCE theme, but a lot of people seem to like it as its been
downloaded over 35,000 times from various places, and has even been included in several distros. With anything this nice, I can't take all the credit
so read on to learn more.
Description:
borrocop suggested a Gentle XFCE theme awhile ago
here:
http://xfce-look.org/content/show.php?content=33744
I think he has created a stunning image of what XFCE could look like, so I went
ahead and put together the Window Manager protion of it.
Billy Cantrell created a gtk theme for Gentle, all I did was remove his panel
portions, and I included Olivier Fourdan's suggestion for defining the XFWM4's color in the gtrkrc file.
If there is anything that needs
changed, or doesn't look appropriate please comment below.
Changelog:
v 1.1: I centered the titles, decreased the height of the window
manager by 1 px, created a different appearance for the close-active button, and added different appearnces for the pressed buttons.
v 1.2:
I've added shadows to the active and inactive title text, I've defined the colors of the title text directly in the window manager theme, I added
shadows to all windows and the panels, menus are now transparent, windows are now transparent when they are being moved.
v 1.3: I've added the
gtk theme based on Billy Cantrell's work.
v 1.4: I included Olivier Fourdan's suggestion for defining the XFWM4's color in the gtrkrc file,
so the GTK theme will work better with other XFWM4 themes.
v 2.0: I fixed an error that Thunderbird was causing with this theme (a big thanks
to kashirigi for pointing this problem out to me), and I've now made it so that the xfwm automatically uses whatever color is called for in the gtk
theme.
v 2.1: coming soon....
